The Tropical Grazing Institute is a research center dedicated to sustainable livestock practices in the tropics.

Ranching and livestock contribute to productive livelihoods and an ever-increasing economic importance in tropical countries. TGI is therefore committed to making this a more productive,sustainable, and profitable activity for the rancher and the larger community.

The center is based in Parrita, a town on the Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. The institute consists of a cattle farm where the production cycle is closed; the animals are raised from birth, allowing us to deal with the daily reality of the Costa Rican livestock sector.
