Resumen
- Analiza la evolución de los sistemas alimentarios a lo largo del tiempo. Se busca proporcionar una narrativa equilibrada que reconozca los beneficios generados por los sistemas alimentarios, al tiempo que señala los problemas importantes y crecientes que aún persisten. El análisis considera los cambios en los indicadores de hambre, crecimiento, emaciación, pobreza, salud humana, productividad, crecimiento económico, paz y gobernanza. Se examinan también las crisis recientes que han impactado estos sistemas y se evalúa la capacidad de los sistemas agroalimentarios para cumplir con los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) y los objetivos del Acuerdo de París. Finalmente se considera que, si bien han habido avances significativos en la mejora de los indicadores relacionados con los sistemas alimentarios, todavía existen preocupaciones serias en diversos aspectos. Se destaca la necesidad de un enfoque integral que no solo identifique las debilidades actuales de los sistemas alimentarios, sino que también resalte las fortalezas existentes que podrían utilizarse como base para las mejoras necesarias. Se enfatiza la importancia de diseñar políticas públicas efectivas y movilizar a los actores relevantes en la búsqueda de soluciones a los desafíos actuales.
- Analyze the evolution of food systems over time. The aim is to provide a balanced narrative that acknowledges the benefits generated by food systems while also highlighting the significant and growing problems that still persist. The analysis considers changes in indicators of hunger, growth, wasting, poverty, human health, productivity, economic growth, peace, and governance. Recent crises that have impacted these systems are also examined, and the ability of agri-food systems to meet the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the objectives of the Paris Agreement is evaluated. Finally, it is considered that while there have been significant advances in improving indicators related to food systems, there are still serious concerns in various aspects. The need for a comprehensive approach is emphasized, one that not only identifies the current weaknesses of food systems but also highlights existing strengths that could be used as a basis for necessary improvements. The importance of considering both the positive and negative aspects of food systems to design effective public policies and mobilize relevant actors in seeking solutions to current challenges is emphasized.
