Haiti Climate resilient agriculture : policies, strategies, and actions Report uri icon

Resumen

  • Agriculture is a crucial sector for Haiti's economy, accounting for 18% of Gross Domestic Product and contributing an average of USD 2.73 billion annually. However, severe food insecurity impacted approximately 4.4 million people in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, inadequate local crop supply, and high food prices. The CARICOM AGREADY project objectives are increasing agricultural productivity and improve natural resource management through sustainable agricultural and agroforestry technologies. Make climate data available and accessible to both sectoral users and the Haitian government. And increase incomes and food security for small agricultural producers in Haiti.
