The preliminary analysis of 8 candidate genes related with resistance responde to Foxy showed dierential expression using the severity scale reported by Enciso-Rodríguez5 . The second study was conducted with the aim to standardize a functional protocol based on Virus-Induced Gene Silencing (VIGS), a powerful alternative approach in reverse genetics. These studies provided knowledge on genetics and breeding strategies for an orphan crop in Colombia.
