Mr Frédéric Perron Welch is a Partner at Bionomos Law Professional Corporation in Ottawa, Canada and pro bono Programme Manager for Biodiversity and Biosafety Law at the Centre for International Sustainable Development Law. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, Canadian Bar Association, and the Canadian Branch of the International Law Association (ILA), and practises environmental law with a focus on biodiversity and the public interest. He holds a Master of Arts in environmental history from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University with a Certificate of Specialization in Environmental Law from the Marine and Environmental Law Institute. He is a member of the Joint Specialist Group on Access and Benefit-sharing and Related Concepts of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law, and serves as a member of the ILA Committee on the Role of International Law in Sustainable Natural Resource Management. He also serves on the board of the Canadian Environmental Network and the Canadian Branch of the International Law Association. Su especialidad es la Biología Integrativa, con énfasis en interacciones biológicas y la genética de poblaciones. Tiene experiencia en agricultura sostenible, agroecología, agricultura familiar y desarrollo rural. Actualmente se desempeña como Especialista en Innovación en el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura (IICA) con sede en Costa Rica. Realiza docencia en el ámbito de posgrado de ciencias agrícolas. Ha publicado más de 60 documentos relacionados con sus áreas de trabajo.
