- The objective of this study was to verify the existence of a correlation between the andrological exam and testicular qualitative echotexture in young bulls of Nelore breed evaluated before breeding season. Thirteen male Nelore bulls, aged between 18 and 20 months, were evaluated in August and October 2018 in the city of Unaí, MG, Brazil. There was a correlation between the andrological examination and testicular echotexture, suggesting that ultrasonography may serve as a screening test to verify reproductive aptitude in young Nellore bulls evaluated before mating, since greater testicular ecotexture, through pixels analysis, was correlate with lower seminal quality. A larger study is recommended to establish cohort values.
