- Saint Vincent and the Grenadines' agriculture sector mainly consists of subsistence farming, with mixed production systems of livestock and crops, including arrowroot, bananas, root vegetables, coconuts, and spices. The government plans to increase crop production for export and local consumption to improve food security and foreign exchange earnings. The agricultural sector's contribution to GDP grew from 53 to 59 million USD between 2016 and 2018. The project's objective is to enhance the country's ability to access climate financing by building capacity within the office of the FP/NDA and developing a strategic framework consistent with national priorities. It aims to build a climate-responsive agricultural sector in the Caribbean that supports food security and livelihoods while using natural resources sustainably.
