Measurements of solar irradiance flux on building envelope at university campus during spring season Conference Paper uri icon

Resumen

  • Main objective of the actual project is to evaluate energy efficiency on building activity through the study of external thermal loads. To do that evaluation of solar irradiance flux on building envelope is the aim presented in the current paper. Theoretical and experimental approaches have been undertaken to estimate magnitude of solar irradiance flux. Measurements have been conveyed in two university campus located in centre and periphery of Santiago city for 2 weeks in spring. Santiago of Chile has a mediterranean climate with great yearly and daily variations. A mathematic model was developed to simulate irradiance on building envelope as well as pyranometers were fixed on solar facades. Results showed different values between instruments and model which can be explained by urban surrounding features such as building shadows, vegetation, sky view factors and terrain cover.
