Alfredo Valerio Dormond is currently the Technical Assistant and Information Technology Specialist for the IICA Office in the United States of America, holds a Master in Computer Sciences from “Insitituto Tecnológico de Costa Rica” and a Bachelor degree in Agronomic Sciences (Animal Husbandry), from “Universidad de Costa Rica”. Has over 12 years of experience as Webmaster, Information Systems Analyst and web application developer using mixed Classic ASP / ASP.net and SQL. Has also ample experience in managing and administering web servers (Windows), computer networks and the design and implementation of corporate-wide policies and standards for web deployment. At the IICA Office in the United States, he was responsible of re-engineering and modernize the internal network and telecommunications infrastructure, as well as the computer and telephone support for all users within the Office.

As the Caribbean Region Operations Coordinator at the Directorate of Regional Operations and Integration (IICA), he was in charge of the elaboration of Annual Planning Programs and its implementation at the National and Regional levels. These Annual Programs included Annual Information Technology and Communications Strategies for the Caribbean Region.

As a Senior Research Assistant for the Tropical Forages Program of the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT), he was responsible for designing, implementing, collecting and disseminating data in research field trials for improved tropical pastures in different ecosystems of tropical America. To this end, he developed a custom-made data collection system, for the interpretation and analysis of results, which served as the basis for decision-making processes and scientific publications.
