Resumen

  • Diptera have diverse functions in ecosystems, such as pollinators, predators, parasitoids, phytophages, and others. It is important to investigate changes of Diptera diversity in agroecosystems, in order to develop proper management strate- gies. The aim of this paper is to assess the abundance, richness, diversity and composition of Diptera morphospecies associ- ated to plant covers such as citrics, bamboo, banana, grass, foraging acacia and coffee in three productive systems in Quindio and Valle del Cauca departments. There were three field trips, with two sampling efforts per cover type. The diversity, domi- nance and similarity indexes were calculated. For comparison between cover types nonparametric tests were conducted. A to- tal of 3481 individuals were collected, belonging to 49 families and 193 morphospecies. The most abundant families were Dro- sophilidae and Sphaeroceridae. The composition of Diptera was different in each productive system and plant cover type, and in each of these there were families and morphospecies that were exclusive to them or at least showed a characteristic domi- nance.
